I understand your hesitation about Franklin. I have the same hesitation. However, I don’t think it’s because I think he’s a bad closer. It just that I wish we had a powerhouse closer. We don’t. In point of fact, I’m not sure the last time we did. You would know this stat much better than I would. Here’s hoping we can put the month of May behind us and start playing good baseball again.

It was such an ugly week. I stopped watching the last two games on my computer after the fourth inning because I figured we’d give up a disgusting number of runs in the later innings…. and I was right. I don’t really know much about FLA right now, but at least we have Carp tomorrow. Maybe that will make things a little less painful. Talk soon.

I think your rant was a little too doomsday. However, I do agree that last night’s game was just stupid. While Ryan and Barden performing their amazing feat didn’t help the game, I felt like it was over before it even started. I thought Tony’s lineup was aweful. We put too many players who are not hitting the broad side of a barn into the lineup. I wasn’t surprised by the lack of production. Oh well, today’s a different day.

Do you think anybody besides me will answer your poll? Wait a second. I just reread the poll, and I am going to revote after this. I thought you were suggesting trading Motte. I thought that was silly of you to say. I guess I’ll rethink about my answer. But do you really think we can get anybody for them?

I agree that trading should be looked at carefully. We don’t need to make any stupid moves right now. If we want to go after somebody, go after somebody big. But, knowing the Cardinals, that won’t happen. Oh well, hopefully we can do something in San Francisco.
