Fernando Salas was going for his 11th save in 11 tries last night and got two outs in the 9th, then all it took was a walk, a stolen base and a single to tie the game. The whole time I was watching it I was frustrated that they couldn’t score just one run to tie the game and get Chris Carpenter some semblance of run support. They were facing Ryan Vogelsong, the least of all the Giants starters. Finally they got [...] Cards LOSE Kyle McClellan had his worst outing of the season yesterday, giving up 7 runs and only pitching 4 innings. He got his second loss while the offense struggled. Albert Pujols was again out of sync with the team offense, hitting a home run and driving in another run. McClellan threw 75 pitches, [...] Cards WIN John Jay hit a 2 run HR in the first inning and Colby Rasmus hit a solo shot in the fourth inning. Kyle Lohse got his 7th win, which ties him for the ML lead. He pitched 6 innings and gave up 2 runs. Eduardo Sanchez did a fabulous job coming in [...] Cards WIN Colby Rasmus tripled twice, drove in 3, and Albert Pujols drove in two runs in the first game in Colorado. The Cardinals won in Colorado fashion 10-3. It was a close game early at 3-3, with the Rockies loading the bases but Jake Westbrook got out of it. Miguel Batista had his [...] Cards LOSE Chris Carpenter pitched and the Cardinals lost. Instead of pitching poorly and deserving it he pitched very well for 7 innings and got no run support.
